About Me
H! My name is Rebecca Carey, and I was born and raised in Tupelo, Mississippi. I graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. I obtained a Master of Science in Literacy Education from the University of Tennessee at Martin. I began my career teaching kindergarten. After teaching for three years, I got married and moved to Collierville, Tennessee where I taught first grade for five years. I currently stay home with my three -year- old son, Isaiah. I miss teaching very much, and look forward to going back one day. I decided to use this time at home to create a literacy blog and open a Teachers Pay Teachers store where I create resources for teachers as well as activities that I use with my toddler at home.
I come from a family of educators, and never considered another career. I feel as though teaching is the most rewarding profession in the world and one that I hold dear to my heart. My greatest passion is teaching literacy and instilling a love of reading and writing in students.

I believe that literacy is the foundation for success in life. My blog is dedicated to providing valuable resources and insights for teachers and parents alike. Whether you are looking for tips for teaching reading or book recommendations for young readers, you are in the right place.
I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, and exploring new places.
